Certified Orthotics Fitter

Position Summary

Certified Orthotics Fitter – Gray, TN. Full‑time, entry level. Responsible for fitting, managing, and coordinating orthotic services across Johnson City Medical Center, Franklin Woods Community Hospital, and Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

• Hands‑on patient clinical care – fitting and applying orthoses
• Physical assessment and orthotic requirement assessment
• Verification of prescription and documentation
• Consultation with and referral to other health care professionals
• Adjustments to accommodate individual anatomic contours
• Patient education and instruction on orthotic use and care
• Compliance with practice management plans and development of policies and procedures to ensure patient well‑being
• Adherence to applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and patient care guidelines
• Maintenance of a safe and professional environment for patient care

• Brightree patient entry and insurance verification, including prior authorization submittals to the Billing Department
• ICD‑10 coding and claims development and submission
• Management of spinal and cervical brace inventory – ordering, stocking, and monthly reporting for Johnson City Medical Center, Franklin Woods Community Hospital, and Laughlin Memorial Hospital
• Managing Continuum facility tickets and clinical documentation for billing‑ready entry, with future expansion of Continuum into new facilities
• Confirmation of all Spinal Program delivery tickets and coordination with Central Supply Services and Excel for stock and fitting responsibilities
• Building and maintaining good working relationships with all team members and educating them on orthotic device aspects
• Conducting quarterly in‑services with team members and physicians
• Coordinating care and services with the Acute Inpatient Therapy department and coordinating the Spinal Program on‑call scheduling for Johnson City Medical Center and Franklin Woods Community Hospital, reporting directly to the Director of Orthopedic Services
• Managing facility billing for all unbillable orthotic services
