Provive Wellness is seeking an experienced and licensed Chief Clinical Director to provide clinical oversight and leadership across all Provive Wellness sites. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care system-wide, maintaining full regulatory and accreditation compliance, and building the clinical infrastructure that supports safe, effective, and ethical treatment for every client we serve.
The Chief Clinical Director sets clinical policy and standards at the organizational level and works in direct partnership with each site's Clinical Supervisor, who manages day-to-day clinical operations at their respective location. This is a senior leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and hands‑on involvement in audits, hiring, admissions, and documentation review.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Readiness- Ensure all clinical practices at every site meet applicable state regulations for mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment.
- Prepare and maintain all sites in a constant state of audit readiness for state licensing bodies, JCAHO (or CARF, as applicable), and insurance/payer audits.
- Lead or directly support all clinical audits, ensuring corrective action plans are developed and implemented when needed.
- Stay current on changes in state and federal regulations and proactively update policies and practices accordingly.
- Ensure full compliance with HIPAA across all sites, including proper handling, storage, and transmission of protected health information (PHI).
- Develop, enforce, and regularly train staff on HIPAA policies and procedures, including breach prevention and reporting protocols.
- Oversee client confidentiality practices during admissions, charting, group sessions, and coordination with outside providers/payers.
- Ensure group and individual programming at all sites is scheduled appropriately to meet client needs and regulatory/insurance requirements.
- Keep clinical curriculum current, evidence-based, and aligned with best practices.
- Research and integrate the latest clinical modalities, interventions, and industry standards into programming across all sites.
- Establish and maintain a clinical staffing structure appropriate to census and program needs at each site.
- Define clear criteria and triggers for when additional clinical hires are needed (caseload ratios, program growth, etc.).
- Be directly involved in the hiring process for clinical staff, including final review/approval of candidates.
- Set hiring standards, credentialing requirements, and onboarding expectations for all clinical roles.
- Establish clinical guidelines and criteria for the Business Development/Admissions team to use when screening prospective clients.
- Review and make final approval/denial decisions on admissions based on clinical appropriateness and level-of-care criteria.
- Serve as the clinical point of escalation for complex or borderline admissions decisions.
- Conduct regular chart/documentation audits across all sites to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and payer standards.
- Identify documentation trends or deficiencies and implement corrective training as needed.
- Support utilization review and ensure documentation supports medical necessity for continued care.
- Provide oversight, mentorship, and support to each site's Clinical Supervisor.
- Standardize clinical policies and procedures across all sites while allowing for site‑specific needs.
- Travel between sites as needed to conduct audits, trainings, site visits, and in‑person support.
