Location: Lenox
Overview
Responsible for assessment and treatment of psychological/psychiatric symptoms and psychosocial aspects of chronic medical conditions in an integrated outpatient setting to improve health outcomes.
Responsibilities- Interview referred clients to gather information about backgrounds, needs and progress.
- Evaluate patients in crisis situations to determine appropriate course of intervention and facilitate external referrals.
- Employ empirically supported, focused interventions to treat common mental health conditions and psychosocial components of chronic medical illness.
- Participate in clinic team environment to support patient care.
- Promote and provide behavioral health education, standards of care for mental illness and substance abuse, and management of psychosocial aspects of chronic medical conditions.
- Monitor behavioral health program, gather data, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Required:
Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work. - Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Ph.D. in Psychology.
- Required:
3-5 years related experience.
- Required:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Tennessee), Tennessee Board of Social Workers. - Preferred:
Licensed Professional Counselor (Tennessee), Tennessee Board for Professional Counselors and Marital and Family Therapists. - Preferred:
Psychologist (Tennessee) – Tennessee Board of Examiners of Psychology. - Preferred:
Marital and Family Therapist – Tennessee Board for Professional Counselors and Marital and Family Therapists.
- Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of providing customer needs assessment and meeting quality standards.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations.
- Proficiency in basic word processing (Word), internet navigation, and electronic medical records.
- Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of staff, physicians, patients/families, and community agencies.
- Ability to establish constructive relationships with clients and handle conflict-laden or complex social situations.
- Analytical skills to break down information or data into separate parts.
- Ability to work independently with judgment and critical thinking.
No lead or supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring activities of social work or psychology interns.
Physical Demands- Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, repetitive motion.
- Light work: exert up to 25 lbs occasionally or up to 10 lbs frequently.
- Requires good visual acuity for activity such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
- Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
