Description:

The Community Health Specialist II for the Trager Institute delivers eight annual virtual state-approved foundational Community Health Worker (CHW) training cohorts, managing scheduling, instruction, and learner support for each cohort cycle. This position is also responsible for providing Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to CHW trainees, following completion of MHFA trainer instruction and certification. Close communication with the grant leadership team, trainees, and state leadership is necessary.

Leading regular training and ensuring the implementation of the grant work plan is necessary to remain compliant with funder expectations and guidelines.

This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon continuation of those funds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include: managing, planning, and coordinating eight annual virtual state-approved foundational CHW training sessions and MHFA training sessions at the Institute.

Leading and managing applicable partnerships; developing and implementing grant related activities to work toward grant goals.

Updating Trager executive staff on grant progress and meeting required grant reporting deadlines.

Facilitating the structured post-training mentorship program for all trainees.

This position m ay require occasional travel to meet with others. May require occasionally working on the weekend.

Preferred Qualifications Previous work experience on grants, experience in community health work, and knowledge of various local community resources and services.

Previous work experience with professional teams and in the healthcare setting to ensure an understanding of evaluation, grant implementation and work applications for community health work.

Experience with facilitating training and engaging learners with varying levels of experience.

Certified as a Community Health Worker in the state of Kentucky, with certification in good standing.

Competencies Expert level experience and comfort with technology, including working with others on the use of technology in order to problem shoot possible technology issues during remote trainings.

Target Compensation Maximum:$72,389.00

Target Compensation Minimum:$48,225.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
