Vytl One (formerly Maxor National Pharmacy Services) has an EXCITING opening for an experienced, full-time, customer focused Pharmacist in Charge. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist to work within Maxor National Pharmacy Services network of managed clinic-based pharmacies throughout the US. Maury Regional Pharmacy located in Lawrenceburg,TN and will be managed by Vytl One.
The Outpatient Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist in Charge directs and coordinates all pharmacy activities, including clinical services, performance improvement, dispensing, and the purchasing, receipt and storage of pharmaceuticals. Collaborates with upper level management in order to ensure the deliverance of high quality pharmacy services and safe, effective, and appropriate medication treatment.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):Ensure the pharmacy provides optimal service, meets legal and accreditation/certification requirements, and complies with all policies and standards of Maxor National Pharmacy Services and the Health System.
Maintain daily operation of pharmacy department by supervising pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the routine performance of their duties.
Ensure the pharmacy is adequately staffed during all hours of operation.
Schedule pharmacy staff for routine, weekend, holiday, and on-call hours.
Provide appropriate technical and customer service training for pharmacy staff.
Review and update established drug-therapy guidelines and other policies and procedures, in conjunction with the VP, Health System Operations, for use by physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
Provide drug information to meet the needs of physicians and nurses through direct contact or in-service programs.
Prepare various reports and maintain records or supervise the maintenance of records as required or requested by the VP, Health System Operations.
Maintain current knowledge of drug therapies and drug reactions and interactions by reading professional literature, attending seminars and utilizing professional affiliations.
Maintain patient medication records.
Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
Provide patient information and counseling.
Interpret and fill drug orders.
Compound, prepare I.V. admixtures (if applicable), and dispense prescriptions.
Participate in inventory control programs such as ordering, inventorying, and monitoring as required by the VP, Health System Operations.
Work Inventory Reports to maintain inventory and turns.
Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
Attend and participate in other programs, committees, meetings, and functions required by the pharmacy department.
Contact and confer with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law.
Ensure the delivery of positive customer service and follow up on customer complaints.
Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
Participate in the development and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program.
Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
Comply with Vytl One's Ethical Business Conduct policy and Vytl One's Compliance Program.
Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
Complete required training and ensure the departmental staff training is completed as required.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner.
Hire, train, and discipline staff.
On a biweekly basis, verify departmental timesheets for departmental employees ensuring the timesheets are accurate based on the work-schedule and necessary corrections are done prior to Payroll submission.
Develop and mentor departmental staff by providing career coaching; motivate departmental staff, individually and as a group; understand and support diversity; and establish an effective team.
