Medical Receptionist Nurture Pediatrics – Nolensville, TN

Nurture Pediatrics is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Receptionist to join our growing pediatric practice in Nolensville, Tennessee
. This position is often the first impression families have of our office, and we are looking for someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service while helping create a positive experience for children and parents.
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for managing front desk operations, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and providing exceptional customer service to families. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Your arrival and departure time will be dependent upon the needs of the clinic, but will fall between 7:00am – 6:30pm Monday – Friday and 8:00am - 12:30pm Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities Patient Reception & Customer ServiceWelcome patients and families in a friendly and professional manner
Check patients in and out for appointments
Verify patient demographics and contact information
Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
Respond to patient messages and appointment requests
Maintain a positive and professional front office environment
Schedule well visits, sick visits, behavioral visits, nurse visits, and follow-up appointments
Assist families with appointment changes and cancellations
Follow scheduling guidelines and provider preferences
Manage appointment confirmations and no-show follow-up procedures
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Identify copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient balances
Collect payments at the time of service
Process self-pay accounts according to office policies
Assist with Tenn Care PCP change processes when needed
Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record
Process school, sports, daycare, and other patient forms
Manage patient portal requests and communication
Maintain accurate patient records
Complete opening and closing front office duties
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
Strong computer and data-entry skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
Previous medical office or pediatric office experience
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
Insurance verification experience
Medical receptionist or healthcare customer service experience
