Description:
The University of Louisville Golf Club (ULGC) in Simpsonville, KY is hiring a Manager, Food and Beverage (Clubhouse Manager,). The Clubhouse Manager oversees the daily operations of the University of Louisville Golf Club (ULGC) clubhouse, including food and beverage operations, clubhouse facilities, seasonal pool operations, and member services. This position is responsible for delivering an exceptional member and guest experience by ensuring the clubhouse is professionally maintained, efficiently operated, and supported through effective leadership, vendor management, and collaboration with University departments and third-party service providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promote a culture of high-performance customer service to ensure an exceptional dining and food and beverage experience for club members and guests.
Proactively seek member feedback, address concerns and complaints, and ensure issues are resolved to the member's satisfaction.
Oversee the Head Chef, servers, bartenders, banquet servers, beverage cart staff, and pool concession staff.
Manage departmental staffing needs, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee separation when necessary.
Develop staff schedules based on business demands while managing labor costs and assisting the Head Chef with kitchen staffing to ensure exceptional service levels.
Oversee the daily operations of the clubhouse and surrounding member service areas to ensure facilities are clean, safe, functional, and maintained to the highest standards.
Conduct routine inspections of the clubhouse to identify maintenance needs and proactively address operational issues before they impact the member experience.
Coordinate with University departments and outside vendors to diagnose, resolve, and complete repairs, maintenance projects, and service requests affecting clubhouse operations.
Manage vendor relationships for clubhouse systems and contracted services, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with University standards.
Monitor vendor performance and recommend service improvements, repairs, replacements, or operational enhancements as needed.
Serve as the primary University liaison with the contracted pool management company to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused pool operations throughout the season.
Coordinate preseason planning and maintain regular communication with the pool management company regarding staffing, safety, maintenance, programming, and member service expectations.
Conduct routine inspections of the pool area and work collaboratively with the pool management company to promptly resolve operational concerns.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure contractual obligations, safety standards, and service expectations are consistently achieved.
Coordinate seasonal opening and closing procedures for the pool facility.
Oversee all food and beverage operations within the pool area, including concession services, staffing, inventory, sanitation, product offerings, and financial performance.
Develop seasonal menus, promotions, and operating plans for pool food and beverage services to enhance the member experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
Ensure all pool food and beverage operations comply with applicable health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and regulatory requirements.
Provide hands-on leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
Hold staff accountable to University policies, service standards, and departmental expectations through coaching and performance management.
Monitor and approve employee time in accordance with University policies and ensure compliance with all wage and hour requirements.
