Position summaryThe HR Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support across the employee lifecycle, from hiring through offboarding. The role maintains accurate employee records, coordinates recruiting logistics, and is the first point of contact for employee HR questions. This position handles confidential information daily and works closely with the HR team as well as Lensrentals’ employees and managers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Recruiting and onboarding
Post open roles, screen applications against minimum requirements, and schedule interviews.
Coordinate offer letters, background checks and pre-employment paperwork.
Prepare new-hire materials, run orientation logistics, and confirm I-9 and E-Verify completion within required timelines.
Records and HR systems
Enter and maintain employee data in ADP with a high degree of accuracy
Maintain personnel files in line with record-retention and confidentiality requirements
Process status changes, transfers, terminations and related documentation
Run standard reports as needed
Employee support
Answer routine questions on policies, benefits enrollment, PTO and payroll timing, escalating complex issues
Manage the hr-intake channel, which acts as the HR ticketing system
Assist with benefits open enrollment and leave-of-absence paperwork
Payroll, compliance and programs
Assist with timekeeping edits for payroll processing in ADP
Support offboarding, including exit paperwork and equipment return
Help coordinate engagement events, recognition programs and other HR projects as assigned
QualificationsRequired
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of HR experience
Proficiency with Google Workspace
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred
Associate's or bachelor's degree in HR, business or a related field
Experience with an HRIS or applicant tracking system
Core competenciesAttention to detail: catches errors in data, forms and documents before they are entered into ADP
