Logistics Engineer – Newbern, TN

RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Logistics Engineer in our Newbern, TN facility!

Your Job

The Logistics Engineer designs, analyzes, and improves supply chain and logistics systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support overall operational performance. This role focuses on transportation, warehousing, inventory management, material flow, packaging, and distribution network optimization using engineering principles and data‑driven analysis.

What You Will Do in Your Role
  • Analyze and improve logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Develop and implement data analytics tools to improve plant process flow.
  • Manage new product launches, end‑of‑life activities, and product transfers.
  • Design and optimize warehouse layouts, material flow, and storage systems.
  • Optimize transportation routes and reduce freight costs.
  • Develop inventory control strategies and replenishment plans.
  • Support production planning and distribution operations.
  • Monitor key logistics KPIs such as on‑time delivery, inventory turns, and transportation costs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, manufacturing teams, and customers.
  • Utilize ERP, WMS, TMS, and data analytics tools to drive operational efficiency.
  • Conduct capacity planning and forecasting analysis.
  • Prepare reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support automation and technology implementation projects.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics software systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience with automation technologies or data visualization tools, APICS/ASCM, Six Sigma, or PMP certification.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in supply chain optimization, transportation planning, and inventory management.
  • Experience with cost reduction strategies and root cause analysis.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
