SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Cleaning Team Member performs janitorial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas and other building interiors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform cleaning duties at maximum quality level.
• Complete work within production time budgets and supply budgets.
• Keep equipment clean and in good operating condition.
• Follow all safety rules and participate in the company’s safety program.
• Project a professional image and maintain good customer and public relations.
• Adhere to company rules, policies, and operating procedures.
• Work as part of a team where required.
• Report equipment breakdowns, unsafe conditions, customer complaints, and other problems to site supervisor.
• Adhere to tardiness and absenteeism policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Dependable transportation or ability to get to and from job site on schedule.
• Language skills: read limited simple words, recognize differences, print and speak simple sentences in English.
• Reasoning ability: apply common‑sense understanding to carry out one or two‑step instructions, handle standardized situations with occasional variables.
• Physical demands: manual tasks requiring strength, ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs, routinely stand, step, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers, climb, balance, talk, hear. Vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

• Sweep, mop and vacuum multiple floor surfaces using industrial vacuums (including back‑pack style vacuums) and mops.
• Occasionally use ladders to reach higher areas to dust/clean.
• Move boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas; remove stains using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Sweep walkways or perform other seasonal tasks.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms; clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in break rooms.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners; clean receptacles as necessary.
• Dust office desks and furniture.
• Properly label, dilute and use all chemicals.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain janitor closet in clean, organized and safe manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level usually moderate.

COMPENSATION: $14.00 per hour.
