Position Summary:
The role focuses on cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining poultry houses and equipment. Key tasks include removing used litter, assisting with bird movement, placing shavings, bush hogging/mowing, and equipment upkeep.
Priority consideration to internal applicants. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience are preferred. Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.
CompensationStarting wage $17.00 per hour plus shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends.

- Remove used litter from poultry houses; clean and disinfect poultry houses and all equipment (including vehicles/tractors) utilizing commercial pressure washer on wet/slick floor; place new shavings in houses following cleaning (70%)
- Move birds as required to growing houses, laying/ pedigree houses or live haul loading area. Ensuring all wingbands have been removed for load-outs for birds leaving the farm (10%)
- Maintain tractors, pressure washers, litter truck, trailers, and mechanical equipment while providing all weekly and maintenance safety checks (10%)
- Maintain and assist with housekeeping standards in the working areas; inspect birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; sanitation of storage areas, breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles; moving birds, grounds‑keeping and organizing breeder tags; properly euthanize selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy; assist in special or non‑routine projects both inside and outside of the department;
repair cages, pens, equipment and buildings or fenced yards; farm cleanup such as garbage/litter retrieval (10%)
- Jobsite is a biosecure environment requiring showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering. Appropriate clothing and footwear provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn except medical body piercings covered by appropriate clothing.
- Willingness to sign agreement to avoid any avian species and to abide by Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines.
- Must use safe lifting techniques. Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 2000 pounds (skids of supplies, shavings). Stand majority of shift on concrete floor; walk, sit, use hands, reach, balance, climb ladders, stoop/bend up to 1000 times per day. Drive vehicle within farm complex; operate trailer/tractor/skidsteer/hyster. Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, adjust focus.
- Work on wet, slippery surfaces in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments. Maintain high situational awareness around equipment and livestock.
- Required PPE: safety glasses, goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, ear plugs/muffs, rubber boots. NIOSH approved N95 respirators may be worn as needed.
- Common chemicals: vitamin supplements, animal dye, disinfectants (Synergize, Lysol, bleach, etc).
- Follow safety policies and procedures (Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, PPE). Identify, address, mitigate safety risks.
The employee is expected to adhere to all Company policies. Failure to perform this job to the above standards could lead to progressive discipline up to and including termination.
