As a Floor Technician / Assistant Supervisor, you will play a key role in both hands‑on cleaning operations and team leadership. Responsibilities- Operate commercial floor-care equipment, including automatic scrubbers, low‑speed and high‑speed floor machines, and carpet‑cleaning equipment.
- Perform specialized floor-care services such as stripping, scrubbing, waxing, burnishing, and carpet cleaning.
- Carry out routine janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, restroom cleaning, and trash removal.
- Lead by example and demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and service standards to team members.
- Train and coach new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
- Monitor cleaning quality, conduct inspections, and provide immediate feedback to ensure high standards are met.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and equipment issues to management.
- Assist with special projects, periodic cleaning, and specialty cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and work areas in an organized and serviceable condition.
- Ensure facilities are properly cleaned, inspected, and secured at the end of each shift.
- Provide weekend coverage as required by the schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team‑lead experience required.
- Previous commercial cleaning or custodial experience preferred.
- Experience operating commercial floor‑care equipment preferred; training may be provided to qualified candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness and ability to perform hands‑on cleaning and floor‑care duties.
- Ability to follow company policies, safety procedures, and customer‑specific requirements.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and reach; operate cleaning equipment; and lift and transport supplies as needed.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and wet surfaces, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:00 AM
, with limited weekend coverage as required. Schedule may vary based on facility needs, special projects, and customer requirements.
