We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Accounting Director to lead our accounting and grant functions and serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership. This role provides oversight of accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, grants, and team development while helping guide the organization's financial future.

This is more than a traditional accounting leadership role. You'll have the opportunity to:

• Influence organizational strategy and financial decision-making
• Partner directly with executive leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
• Lead a high‑performing accounting team and mentor future finance leaders
• Strengthen financial processes, internal controls, and operational excellence
• Help support a mission-driven healthcare organization making a measurable impact across Colorado
• Balance strategic leadership with hands‑on financial management

As the Accounting Director, you will provide leadership and oversight of all accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls. You'll oversee month-end and year-end close processes, direct audit activities, support budgeting and forecasting, manage grant accounting functions, and collaborate with leaders across the organization to provide meaningful financial insights. You'll also supervise and develop accounting staff while driving continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
• Minimum 3 years of leadership and staff management experience
• Experience with grants and regulatory compliance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and forecasting
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Nonprofit and/or healthcare industry experience
• Experience managing government grants and external audits

Salary: $135,000 - $150,000 annually
Position: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: VP of Finance
Location: Englewood, Colorado / Hybrid Consideration Available
