The YMCA of Greater Louisville is seeking an experienced, community-focused leader to serve as Executive Director of a full-service YMCA branch with a 4 million plus in annual operations with fundraising efforts exceeding $230,000.The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the branch, including financial management, membership and program growth, staff development, fundraising, community partnerships, facility operations, and safety.

This position leads a multidisciplinary team and works closely with volunteers, donors, community partners, and the Branch Advisory Board to advance the YMCA’s mission.

Key Responsibilities Lead daily branch operations and implement annual goals aligned with the YMCA’s strategic priorities.

Develop and manage an annual operating budget of approximately $8+ million.

Monitor revenue, expenses, membership, program participation, staffing, and overall branch performance.

Recruit, supervise, coach, and develop branch leadership and staff.

Recruit, cultivate and develop a high performing Branch Advisory Board.

Lead and grow comprehensive fundraising efforts and cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors.

Lead assigned strategic plan initiatives and achieve measurable results.

Works collaboratively with association leaders and team members to advance the mission of the YMCA.Drive membership growth, retention, engagement, and customer service.

Ensure high-quality programs that respond to community needs.

Provide executive oversight of two indoor swimming pools, one outdoor waterpark, and aquatics operations.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, child-protection, risk-management, and YMCA standards.

Oversee facility maintenance, emergency preparedness, and capital improvement needs.

Build strong partnerships with schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and community groups.

Represent the YMCA throughout the community.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, recreation, public administration, human services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience.

Experience managing a significant operating budget and leading managers or multidisciplinary teams.

Demonstrated success in financial management, staff development, program or membership growth, and community engagement.

Strong communication, decision-making, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and community events.

Preferred Qualifications YMCA or nonprofit leadership experience.

Experience managing an operation with annual revenue of $4 million or more.

Experience overseeing aquatic programs.

Experience with fundraising, donor development, grants, or sponsor ships.

Experience working with a volunteer board.

Certifications The successful candidate must obtain and maintain required YMCA certifications, including CPR/AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and other required leadership and safety training.
