Synthesis Chemist I at Colonial Chemical, Inc.

Summary/Objective:
Support the company by developing new products, supporting existing products, and interacting with customers.

• Conduct bench-scale synthesis to support new product development
• Conduct bench-scale testing of formulations
• Participate in process improvement
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing plant
• Consult with quality control department and provide technical input as required
• Be able to work and communicate effectively with personnel from quality control, production, and management
• Interact with sales representatives and customers to address technical issues and explore innovations
• Occasional travel to trade shows or customer visits with sales personnel may be required

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

This is a full-time position; hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
• Experience working in a laboratory position with synthetic and analytical skills is a plus
• Knowledge of surfactant chemistry highly desired
