Job Overview
Wastequip has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our Eagleville, TN manufacturing operation. This is a full-time position with great benefits including health insurance, 401(k) plan, paid vacation/sick time, and more. The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment. Second shift hours: 2:30 PM‑11:00 PM. Hourly pay: $22.00 plus a $3.00 shift differential.
Responsibilities- Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks.
- Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces.
- MIG weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
- Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch; turn regulator valves, light torch, and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
- Hold and guide torch at proper angle to cut metal.
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Scarify or groove welds and parts.
- Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift or move 90 lbs.
- Demonstrate specific vision abilities: distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- High school diploma, GED, or technical school (preferred).
- MIG welding experience (required); at least 1 year of related experience or training (preferred).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tape.
- Experience in a fast‑paced production environment (preferred).
- Ability to pass all required EHS tests and clearances.
