Base pay range

$25.00/yr - $28.00/yr

Our Drafter will be responsible for creating precise and accurate technical drawings to support the production of parts and components used in BE's manufacturing process at the Decaturville TN location. The role will collaborate with production, engineering and quality control to ensure the designs meet all specifications, standards and customer requirements. The technical expertise of the drafter will directly contribute to manufacturing high quality parts through design verification, accuracy and continuous improvement.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop detailed and accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using CAD software (AutoCAD and Solid Works) for parts and components (Solid Works is highly preferred)
  • Modify and update existing drawings as needed to reflect changes in design, materials, or processes
  • Collaborate with fabricators and engineers to translate conceptual, hand drawn designs, tribal knowledge and specifications into production-ready technical drawings
  • Specify materials, dimensions, and tolerances on drawings to ensure proper part fabrication
  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing, production, and quality control teams to ensure drawings are accurate and aligned with production requirements
  • Review and verify drawings to ensure they meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and quality specifications
  • Assist in identifying and resolving design or production issues related to technical drawings
  • Follow BE's standard system for drawing storage and version control to ensure easy access for production teams and stakeholders
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • Associate degree or Technical Certification or higher in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
WHO YOU ARE:

  • 2+ years' experience in drafting or technical drawing within a manufacturing environment (familiarity with product design and part fabrication processes is a plus)
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing specifically working with sheet metal and tubing
  • Ability to create accurate, clear, and complete technical drawings with a high level of precision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • You are physically fit, energetic and self-motivated
  • You have the ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • You have a "safety first" mindset and understand the importance of upholding safety standards
  • You are comfortable using computers and can navigate systems efficiently
  • You have experience with continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Kaizen) and manufacturing concepts
  • You are legally able to work in the USA
