Position Overview

The Distribution Supervisor performs frontline supervisory functions and is responsible for safety, discipline, associate relations, housekeeping and performance reviews of hourly associates as well as making recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. The role supervises, directs, advises, and trains manufacturing team members to meet production demands while ensuring focus on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. The supervisor actively encourages continuous improvement, 5S, and lean manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the distribution of building products to meet shipping demands.
  • Develop and implement staffing guidelines to maximize utilization of human resources while controlling manpower costs.
  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace staff as required to ensure performance objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and train teammates to prepare them for increasing responsibilities, evaluate them annually and provide feedback.
  • Hold shift meetings for safety and production items as instructed by the manager.
  • Train personnel in tooling, troubleshooting, machine set‑up, operation, changeover, safety procedures, and record keeping.
  • Identify potential career paths for associates and work with them to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Interview candidates for manufacturing positions and recommend hires to Human Resources.
  • Assign personnel to extrusion lines or production areas and oversee line or area rotations and break schedules.
  • Respond to short‑notice production or shipping needs.
  • Understand all safety policies and regulations and address unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Administer policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Coach and counsel associates and take corrective action when needed.
  • Promote company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Control materials to eliminate waste.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Night Shift

6 PM – 3 AM

Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Management, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant experience in sheet extrusion strongly preferred for extrusion facilities; fenestration experience preferred for windows facilities.
Skills/Abilities
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills; ability to educate and train non‑degreed operators and technicians.
  • Proficient in supervising, motivating, mentoring, and training associates on a regular basis.
  • Proficient in extrusion operation and current quality standards and checks.
  • Proficient in STOP and 5S principles; upper‑level mathematical and mechanical skills required.
  • Proficient in use of calipers and other measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of PVC resin/compound blending preferred; knowledge of fenestration process may also be required.
  • Knowledge of work orders, schedules and priorities and ability to carry out tasks.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual Spanish skills a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • May require light travel (≈ 10 %).
  • Walks and stands up to 12 hours; frequently lifts 0–10 lbs, occasionally 10–20 lbs.
  • Frequently bends, squats, climbs, kneels, twists, pushes, pulls and reaches.
  • May use a forklift or other lifting/transporting devices.
