You will supervise shift team’s progress against work plans to ensure the proper use of machinery, equipment, and assembly lines within a production area. Each day you will provide regular feedback and make recommendations to management regarding issues within the production line, including production line organization, shifting priorities, and potential critical situations. You will also cooperate with the unit supervisor to create an effective work environment and reinforce production schedules and quality standards.
The role is onsite and contributes to the 2nd shift production departments in Selmer, TN.
- Supervise shift team’s progress against work plans to ensure proper use of machinery, equipment, and assembly lines.
- Provide regular feedback and recommend solutions for production line issues and critical situations.
- Cooperate with the unit supervisor to create an effective work environment and reinforce production schedules and quality.
- Accountable for implementing staff movements in case of vacations, illnesses, machine outages, or shifting priorities.
- Reinforce focus on volume, efficiency, and on‑time delivery.
- Assist management and shift team in allocating, coordinating, and overseeing shift orders and work plan execution during the shift.
- Serve as a leader during shifts to oversee cooperation and resolve technical, quality, and logistical problems.
- Role models and supports a culture that holds team members accountable for adhering to all job expectations and company policies and procedures.
- Routinely shares observations with the Supervisor to improve individual and team capability.
- Develops and reinforces ABB Values in Action within team members.
- Follows all environmental and safety regulations affecting operations.
- Redlines operating procedures or checklists to maintain accurate documentation per the quality management system guidelines.
- Communicates effectively with maintenance and contractors concerning jobs performed within the department.
- Knows and effectively uses knowledge of key parameters of every unit operated and/or maintained and how to handle process upsets or equipment failures.
- Applies problem‑solving and advanced troubleshooting skills consistently in the area of responsibility.
- Recommends improvements to QMS, training, and other tools to enhance team member understanding.
- Engages team members to understand the work environment, trains on specific tasks, develops troubleshooting expertise, and provides coaching.
- Provides input to the Supervisor on team strengths and improvement opportunities.
- Develops relationships to promote teamwork between teams and other organizations.
- Plans and organizes own work and the work of others effectively.
- Models a high work ethic and expects the same from team members.
