Job SummaryResponsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends process improvements as they relate to production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Supervises daily activities of staff to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Job LocationThis is an onsite role based in Bulls Gap, TN
Job Responsibilities- Work alongside supervisory production staff to oversee the plant's operations surrounding monitoring, reviewing and reporting the operations of respective departments
- Must have in-depth knowledge of the company's policies, procedures and regulations to ensure the plant is run effectively and efficiently
- Requires significant analytical ability, superior communication and strong problem‑solving skills in order to ensure success in the role
- Ensures effective employee relations and provides employee coaching and development wherever necessary
- Responsible for making employment related decisions alongside management and human resources and resolves employment issues through solution‑focused resolutions
- Works continuously to improve all areas including quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all work areas
- Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to senior leadership
- Performs any accident‑related investigations alongside the plant's Safety Manager
- Maintains proper inventory levels within assigned departments and manages departmental priorities
- Assists human resources in tracking absenteeism and employee timekeeping
- Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary based on the needs of the business
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Typically requires 5+ years specific manufacturing experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the overall organizational function from a site‑specific standpoint
- Knowledge of manufacturing/industry specific procedures and terminology
