Production Manager
Location: Vonore
Position Overview
As part of the talented Sea Ray Assembly team, you will supervise production employees and assign work while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. You will recommend and execute improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions through listening, engaging employees, and problem‑solving. You will act as the company conduit for employee communications to keep employees abreast of news and information.
EssentialFunctions
- Own the four main metrics (safety, quality, delivery, productivity/people) – understand results and implement action plans to close gaps and meet targets.
- Typically spend 75% of time on the floor directly supervising daily production, 25% on administrative and project tasks.

- Communicate professionally and represent the Company as a leader in all interactions with employees at all levels.
- Utilize tools such as MS Office, Shop Floor Manager, OBMS, etc. to execute daily responsibilities and project work.
- Oversee a line or area within a department, including responsibility for front‑line employees and Leads. Understand staffing needs, review nominal headcount, interview for open roles, and make selection decisions.
- Ensure safety of team and compliance with PPE, safety policies, conduct safety audits, correct unsafe behaviors, and partner with EH&S to conduct incident investigations.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis with Quality to address defects, warranty issues, and corrective actions.
- Lead Continuous Improvement efforts using tools such as Andon, Spaghetti Diagrams, Line Balancing, 5S, DMIAC, and Root Cause Analysis. Coordinate cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
- Drive accountability to policies and procedures; make discretionary decisions guided by business plans.
- Manage performance issues, administer disciplinary actions, conduct evaluations for all employees.
- Resolve conflicts within team and across teams; investigate personnel issues in partnership with HR.
- Create action plans from Employee Opinion Survey results and drive execution.
- Manage timekeeping and absenteeism; update UKG, sign off on timecards, and ensure compliance with start/stop times, break times, and mealtimes.
- Understand and manage the production schedule and its impact on other areas; communicate changes or deviations to internal customers and partner functions.
- Work with leaders in upstream and downstream processes to achieve metrics; partner with peers to resolve production and quality issues.
- Ensure development of team as part of succession and talent planning.
- Manage cost, expense, and inventory control of material and supplies.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Prior leadership experience or experience as a mentor.
- Knowledge of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze data and understand metrics and systems.
- Strong communication skills, including written, oral, and listening.
- Experience resolving conflict with others.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability and drive to become certified Green Belt.
- Desire for continuous learning.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- 2+ years' experience in an Assembly role.
- Certified Green Belt (or higher).
The hiring range for this position is $49,900–$69,300 annually, with base pay varying based on qualifications, experience, business needs, and location. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participation in Brunswick’s benefits portfolio, including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401(k) with up to 4% match, Health Savings Account with company contribution, well‑being program, product purchase discounts, and more.
