Position: Production Supervisor (Assembly)
Location: Vonore

Position Overview

As part of the talented Sea Ray Assembly team, you will supervise production employees and assign work while meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. Recommend and execute improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions through listening, engaging employees and problem solving. Act as the company conduit for employee communications to keep employees abreast of news and information.

Functions
  • Own the four (4) main metrics – safety, quality, delivery and productivity/people – understand results & implement action plans to close gaps & meet targets.
  • Spend roughly 75 % of the time on the floor in direct supervision of daily production, with the remaining 25 % on administrative and project tasks.

  • Display professionalism and represent the company as a leader in all communications and interactions with employees at all levels.
  • Utilize tools such as MS Office applications, Shop Floor Manager, OBMS, etc. to execute daily responsibilities and project work.
  • Oversee a line or area within a department, including responsibility for front‑line employees and leads. Understand staffing needs, review nominal headcount and execute the plan; interview for open roles and make selection decisions.
  • Ensure safety of the team – enforce PPE compliance, safety policy adherence, conduct safety audits, correct unsafe behaviors & conditions, and partner with EH&S on incident investigations.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis on defects in partnership with Quality, drive resolution, address repeat warranty issues and drive corrective actions around compliance findings.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts using tools such as Andon, Spaghetti Diagrams, Line Balancing, 5S, DMIAC, Root Cause Analysis, etc.; identify roadblocks, pull together cross‑functional teams and execute actions.
  • Drive accountability to policies and procedures; make discretionary decisions guided by policies, procedures and the business plan.
  • Manage performance issues; administer disciplinary actions and corrective actions; conduct performance evaluations for all employees.
  • Resolve conflict within the team and across teams; investigate routine personnel issues in partnership with HR.
  • Create action plans from Employee Opinion Survey results and drive execution for the area of responsibility.
  • Manage time‑keeping & absenteeism; update UKG; sign off on timecards; ensure compliance to start/stop times, break times & meal times.
  • Understand and manage the production schedule; communicate changes or deviations to internal customers and coordinate with support functions.
  • Work with leaders in upstream and downstream processes to achieve metrics – partner with peers to resolve production and quality issues.
  • Ensure development of the team as part of succession and talent planning.
  • Manage cost, expense, and inventory control of material and supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Knowledge of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and understand metrics and systems.
  • Strong communication skills – written, oral and listening.
  • Experience resolving conflict between individuals.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Drive to become certified Green Belt.
  • Desire for continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2+ years’ experience in an assembly role.
  • Certified Green Belt (or higher).
Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $49,900 – $69,300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on factors such as knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs and geographic location.
