Job Summary
The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for moving products "in and out" of the facility: polymer concrete boxes, covers, and vaults, from designated storage locations in the yard. Also, the material handler will be responsible for loading products "onto and off-of" trucks for daily shipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and guidelines
- Actively participate in company's Continuous Improvement Programs
- Ability to read and interpret Production Work Orders (PWO), Assembly Pick Sheets (Orders), and Bill of Ladings
- Identify safety hazards in the yard and storage locations
- Inspect and perform maintenance checks on the forklift, daily & weekly
- Inspect material, products, or equipment for defects
- Pick, wrap and stage orders for daily shipment or storage
- Maintaining accuracy and organization of yard bin locations
- Perform cycle counts as needed
- Consolidate pallets as needed
- Empty dumpsters and scrap bins
- Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with forklift operations
- Strong attention to details
- Basic math skills
- Good time management
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to stand or sit for long durations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously
- Must be able to work in a hot and cold environment
