NABRICO Marine Products is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Tacker to join our manufacturing team in Ashland City, Tennessee. In this role, you will assist in the fabrication and assembly of steel components by positioning, fitting, and tack welding materials in preparation for final welding. Working closely with Fitters and Welders, you will play an important role in ensuring assemblies are built accurately and efficiently while maintaining NABRICO's commitment to quality and safety.
WhatYou'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Position, align, and secure steel components for assembly.
- Perform tack welds to hold components in place prior to final welding.
- Verify measurements and ensure assemblies meet dimensional specifications.
- Operate grinders and other hand and power tools to prepare materials.
- Assist Fitters and Welders throughout the fabrication process.
- Identify and report material or quality concerns.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment, as trained.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in welding, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Basic blueprint reading skills preferred.
- Ability to perform tack welds of 4" using the required welding processes is required.
- Experience using grinders and common fabrication tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
- Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and welding fumes.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
- Full-time
- First or Second Shift (based on business needs)
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
