Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Stick Welder/Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing precise welding and fabrication tasks on various metal components, primarily focusing on structural and metal handrail applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of welding techniques, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication processes.

Duties
  • Perform SMAW (stick welding), but nice to have MIG, TIG, FCAW welding on diverse metal materials including sheet metal and some pipe components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal parts.
  • Operate rigging equipment for material handling and positioning.
  • Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to meet specifications.
  • Fabricate piping, structural steel, and other components following ASME codes & standards.
  • Perform basic math calculations related to measurements, material quantities, and project specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks on welds using visual inspection techniques and appropriate testing methods.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Skills
  • Proven experience with construction site welding or manufacturing fabrication projects.
  • Proficiency in stick (SMAW), and preferred experience with MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of rigging operations.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes & standards governing welding and fabrication practices.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to work safely in a construction or manufacturing environment while adhering to safety protocols.
