The Casting Production Superintendent is accountable for delivering safety, production, quality, and reliability performance of the casting department through disciplined daily execution. The role is highly tactical, floor‑focused and responsible for driving day‑to‑day actions to control business performance.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Leadership – Own and enforce a proactive safety culture; ensure compliance with safety standards and risk mitigation; lead incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
- Floor Presence & Leadership – Lead with a strong floor presence; support plant priorities; act in alignment with company values of Sustainable, Action‑Oriented, and Committed.
- Daily Operations Management – Control daily casting operations during DMS and GEMBA Walks; address excursions, performance issues, personnel concerns, and resource gaps with immediate action.
- Workforce Coaching – Coach Area Coordinators and Shift Supervisors; ensure operators understand roles; drive discipline and consistency in quality of work.
- Strategy Deployment – Deploy and execute operational strategies set by the Casting Manager; implement and sustain DMS, Standardized Work, training systems, RCA, and performance tracking.
- Operational Performance Accountability – Own delivery of short‑term targets for Production, Downtime, Scrap, Quality, and Cost control; prioritize actions using daily data.
- Quality Assurance – Ensure product quality meets internal specifications and alloy requirements; enforce process controls and standards.
- Reliability & Downtime Reduction – Own asset performance; work cross‑functionally with Maintenance and Engineering to reduce unplanned downtime and improve reliability.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in Engineering
- 7–10 years experience in casting aluminum products
- 5–10 years experience as a production supervisor or manager in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in a TS16949 certified facility
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- In‑depth knowledge of casting process, equipment operation, aluminum alloys, and customer specifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as a team member
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Willingness to perform additional duties as required to support business success
