Our client is seeking a hands-on manufacturing leader who wants to make an impact where production happens, on the floor. This is an opportunity to take ownership of second shift operations, lead a team of approximately 20 to 25 employees, solve production challenges in real time, and directly influence safety, quality, efficiency, and team performance. The successful candidate will be highly visible throughout the operation, comfortable making decisions, and energized by developing people while keeping a fast-moving manufacturing environment on track.

This Role Offers

  • Additional earning potential through a second shift differential and incentive opportunity.
  • A highly visible leadership role with ownership of an entire production shift.
  • The opportunity to develop employees, improve processes, and influence day-to-day plant performance.
  • A hands-on environment where mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, and leadership are valued.

Focus

  • Lead and develop a second shift production team, providing daily direction, coaching, training, and accountability.
  • Remain closely engaged with day-to-day operations, dedicating the majority of each shift to hands-on support within the production environment.
  • Drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, attendance, and key operating metrics.
  • Assign labor and resources based on production priorities and adjust workflow as conditions change.
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues, make basic adjustments, and coordinate additional technical support when needed.
  • Partner with maintenance, quality, and process teams to minimize downtime and maintain product standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve workflow, and strengthen overall shift performance.
  • Maintain accurate shift records and ensure an effective transition between production shifts.

Skill Set

  • Manufacturing leadership experience with meaningful responsibility for employees, performance, and daily decision-making.
  • Strong coaching, communication, conflict resolution, and employee accountability skills.
  • Comfortable remaining actively engaged on the production floor for the majority of the workday.
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on production troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with continuous improvement practices such as Lean, 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, or KPI improvement is preferred.
  • Background in plastics, injection molding, automotive, packaging, or similar manufacturing environments is highly relevant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with an associate or technical degree preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and meet the physical demands of the position.
