About the Role

Our client is looking for dedicated individuals to enter their comprehensive apprenticeship program as Apprentice Fitters and Turners in East London . This is a hands‑on opportunity to develop highly sought-after skills in precision machining, fabrication, and fitting of mechanical components. You will work in a workshop environment under the close supervision of experienced artisans, learning to operate machine tools, interpret engineering drawings, and assemble complex machinery.

This apprenticeship is your pathway to becoming a qualified artisan, a vital role in manufacturing and engineering sectors within the Eastern Cape.

• Assist qualified Fitters and Turners in the fabrication and assembly of mechanical parts and equipment.
• Learn to operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines to precise specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Perform fitting tasks, including aligning parts, making adjustments, and ensuring smooth operation of machinery.
• Measure, mark out, and cut materials using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations and workshop procedures in East London .

• A strong interest in mechanical engineering and precision work.
• Grade 12 or equivalent, with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science being essential.
• Good spatial reasoning, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a workshop team.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work in an industrial setting.
