Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required
• Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med/Surg or acute care setting (2 years preferred)
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, and functional needs
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for Med/Surg patients
• Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with hospital and nursing protocols
• Monitor, document, and report patient progress, updating care plans as needed
• Provide patient and family education, support, and counseling
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient rehabilitation goals
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Respond to medical emergencies and perform life-saving interventions as required
• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and clinical support staff
• Promote a safe, clean, and positive healthcare environment for patients and staff
