Responsibilities
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are responsible for planning and managing patient care tailored to individual needs. They serve as the eyes and ears of Registered Nurses and Physicians, performing ongoing and accurate assessments of vital signs. Key duties include:
- Administering and monitoring patient medications and dressing changes
- Supervising nursing assistants and leading a team of nurses
- Identifying and resolving patient care issues within the care plan
- Administering intravenous medications and fluids, and caring for IV lines
