QC Supervisor - New Johnsonville, TN
QC Supervisor to serve as the ultimate checkpoint before our ultra-high purity (UHP) electronic gases are shipped to semiconductor customers. In this high-responsibility role, you will cross-examine laboratory chemical data, physically inspect final packaging, verify strict regulatory transport labels, and hold the formal authority to approve or reject shipments for delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality control measures.
- Review Certificates of Analysis (CoA):
Cross-reference laboratory analytical results (GC-MS, FTIR, CRDS) against customer purchase orders to ensure trace impurity levels (moisture, O₂, particles) meet exact parts-per-billion (ppb) contract specifications. - Final Physical Inspection:
Conduct a complete visual audit of the cylinder body, valve, and valve cap for surface dents, contamination, or signs of transport degradation. - Verify Tamper-Evident Seals:
Confirm that high-purity valve shrink-wraps, dust caps, and specialized cylinder seals are intact, airtight, and correctly applied. - Audit Hazardous Materials (Haz Mat) Labeling:
Ensure every container displays flawless Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). UN hazard numbers, Global Harmonized System (GHS) pictograms, and tracking bar codes. - Cross-Check Shipping Manifests:
Match physical cylinder serial numbers exactly against the bill of lading, customer delivery address, and electronic inventory system records. - Execute Final Release Sign-Off:
Formally unlock approved packages in the ERP system for shipment, or issue immediate "Stop-Ship" holds on any non-conforming or suspicious products. - Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all polices and standards
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years in QC/QA inspection, with specific experience in Electronic/Industrial gases, chemical manufacturing, pharma packaging, or aerospace shipping.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Quality Management
- Experience:
3+ years in QC/QA inspection, with specific experience in industrial gases, chemical manufacturing, pharma packaging, or aerospace shipping. - Data Verification:
Exceptional document review skills; high comfort level reading complex chemical purity spreadsheets and lab printouts. - Regulatory Compliance:
Familiarity with Haz Mat transport standards (such as DOT, ADR, or IATA) and compressed gas safety protocols (CGA guidelines). - High Attention to Detail:
Ability to spot tiny errors—such as a misplaced digit in a serial number or a micro-scratch on a valve face—in a fast-moving shipping environment. - Professional Integrity:
Confident decision-making skills to halt a high-value shipment and push back against production timeline pressures if a quality standard is compromised. Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
