Plant Quality Manager - Aerospace Transparencies

We are looking for an experienced Quality Professional to lead the quality function for our Aerospace Transparencies manufacturing site in Huntsville, Alabama. The role ensures compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21, and EASA Part 21 while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.
Responsibilities- Own and maintain the site QMS, ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and corporate standards, and lead certifications and audit activities.
- Ensure FAA/EASA Part 21 compliance for aerospace manufacturing, conduct internal audits and support customer/regulatory audits with timely CAPA closure.
- Implement AS9145 (APQP/PPAP) for aerospace programs, including process validation, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide quality leadership for new product introductions and process changes; oversee nonconformance investigations and MRB activities.
- Conduct FMEA risk assessments, root cause analysis, and implement preventive controls to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor quality KPIs, drive data‑driven improvements, and implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and variation.
- Lead and mentor quality team members while providing daily support to Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain for process control and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in a quality role, preferably within aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21 and EASA Part 21 regulatory standards.
- Strong background in auditing, CAPA/RCCA, MRB, and cross‑functional root cause problem solving.
- Proficiency with aerospace quality tools: APQP, SPC, FMEA, control plans, inspection techniques (NDT, CMM), and statistical software such as Minitab or JMP.
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, AS9100/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Experience with ERP/QMS systems such as QAD or ETQ Reliance preferred.
