This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This role is part of the Safety, Quality, & Mission Assurance team. This teamis focusedon monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin design, manufacture, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health and safety, product integrity and continuous improvement processes serve the Blue Origin Mission and Vision.

Responsibilities
  • Manage preparation for Computer Aided Manufacturing inspection by creating data analysis templates using Microsoft Excel.
  • Inspection Software Quality Assurance.
  • Program,setupand operate CMM
  • Using design data to inspectmachinedand received components.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
  • Document Non-Conformance reports as required.
  • Provide inspection time estimates.
  • Process improvement including inspection cycle time reductions.
  • Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
  • Safely workwithinan industrial environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of7years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components or equivalent.
  • CMM programming and operation.
  • Superior blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO
    9000 Quality Management Systems and/or related quality systems and programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • CAD system knowledge
  • Model Based Engineering experience per ASME Y14.41-2012.
  • Creo Experience
  • Advanced machining knowledge.
  • Design for Manufacturability and Producibility knowledge.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware.
  • Experience in Tooling design reviews to address tooling and component manufacturability on flight hardware ensuring compliance with ASME requirements.
  • Experience in PC-DMIS, and QUINDOS

    Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles:
    Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
