Overall

Purpose:

Evaluate training and documentation compliance to the needs of Timken NA Rail quality systems. Use and grow established training methods and documented instructions to drive training efforts and associate knowledgebase at the Timken Mascot facility and where applicable to other NA Rail facilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Act as a role model, coach, and trainer for new associates to foster a team environment.
  • Generate and maintain appropriate quality records and reports.
  • Work directly with NA Rail leadership on all plant and job specific training activities to include organizing, tracking, facilitating, delivering, and improving training programs involving elements of Environmental Health and Safety, Quality, and On-The-Job training curriculum and certifications.
  • Evaluate current processes, employee knowledge of job skillsets, and documentation for adequacy to production and quality needs.
  • Assist as required with investigations into root cause and corrective actions related to customer complaints.
  • Collaborates with area and quality supervisors or managers to correct suspect or non-conforming parts.
  • Assist with 100% inspection of suspect product.
  • Knowledgeable on different gauging methods as well as the ability to set-up gauge equipment and interpret readings.
  • Interact with internal and external quality auditors as requested to ensure smooth flow of any audit process.
  • Assists as requested with any customer or external visitors to the facility.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across many layers; professional interaction (e.g., management, operations, corporate, external agencies)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience working in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • May require prolonged periods of sitting/standing/walking
  • Moderate twisting and bending.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, powered equipment, hand tools and gauges
  • Vision must be normal (20/20). Correctional lenses are acceptable.
  • May participate in hearing conservation program

Environmental Conditions:

  • Loud manufacturing environment, exposure to metals, machine lubricants, rust preventative and other process chemicals, seasonal cold/heat.
  • Protective Clothing and Personal Devices:
    Safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves. Other specialized protective equipment may be required based on area assignment.
