About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Senior Research Scientist specializing in Polymer Chemistry to join their advanced R&D department in East London . This role will focus on the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel polymeric materials with tailored properties for diverse applications. You will lead research projects, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of next-generation materials.

- Lead research initiatives in the synthesis of new polymers and polymeric composites with controlled architectures and functionalities.
- Characterize polymer properties using techniques such as GPC, NMR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, and rheology.
- Develop and optimize polymerization processes, focusing on scalability and sustainability.
- Investigate structure-property relationships to guide the design of materials for specific performance requirements.
- Collaborate with product development teams to translate laboratory innovations into commercially viable materials in East London .
- Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience in polymer chemistry, with a strong emphasis on synthesis and characterization.
- Demonstrated expertise in various polymerization techniques (e.g., free radical, controlled radical, condensation polymerization).
- Experience with polymer processing and structure-property analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a research setting.
