Store Manager, Retail & Store Manager

Role Overview

Responsible for managing store operations, staffing, and employee development to ensure effective implementation of processes including ordering, stocking, presentation, and sales.

• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and retain qualified staff in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Communicate performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and address performance or conduct issues.
• Make recommendations on employee pay and advancement.
• Oversee store opening and closing procedures, ensuring proper staffing and operations.
• Analyze financial statements to identify trends, control expenses, and prevent shrinkage.
• Manage inventory levels through ordering, cycle counts, and stock replenishment.
• Ensure merchandise presentation adheres to company standards, utilizing fixtures and signage effectively.
• Maintain accurate inventory, control damages, markdowns, and ensure cash handling and security protocols are followed.
• Lead customer service initiatives, maintain a clean and safe store environment, and ensure staff compliance with policies.
• Complete necessary documentation and adhere to operational procedures.

• Ability to interpret operational documents, perform basic math, and handle cash procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and safety practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred experience in retail management and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred for some locations.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Occasional ladder use and driving for store-related tasks.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
