Compensation
Starting Hourly Rate: $27.03
Senior Transportation Officer: (after 6‑9 months on average based on performance) $30.01
- Sign‑on bonus: $3,500
- Safety & Performance Bonus – up to $500 per quarter. After promotion to STO, $1,000 per quarter. If all four quarters are earned, additional $250.
- Referral bonus – $2,500 per person (no cap, any location).
- Guaranteed minimum 40‑hour paycheck per week.

Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Willing to work changing hours.
- Must be 21 or older.
- Prefer: one year of corrections experience, law enforcement, military police/security, detention officer experience, security officer with detaining/guarding experience, or a degree in criminal justice or related field.
- Prefer a valid Class A or B driver’s license with air‑brake and passenger endorsements, or a CDL Class A or B willing to obtain endorsements.
- Must be willing to travel to Nashville, TN for a 3‑week paid training program (all costs paid). Dates scheduled during interview process.
- Annual recertification and in‑service training.
This position is responsible for the safe and secure management of the inmate, detainee and/or resident population and trip movement. Follows sound correctional and transportation industry practices.
Essential Functions- Responsible for safe and orderly operation of the assigned trip, promoting public and staff safety and a secure, humane environment.
- If qualified, may serve as Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) unless otherwise directed.
- Monitor and supervise inmate, detainee, and/or resident activity per TCA policy. Address complaints, resolve disputes, protect rights, and complete required documentation.
- Follow safety practices and report injuries or accidents promptly per policy. Take appropriate action in serious incidents or emergencies.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and briefings. Maintain effective communication with trip management and field office supervisors.
- Ensure readiness of equipment and restraints, weapons, OIC kits, vehicles, etc.
- Manage and control resources, including medication and property of inmates/detainees/residents.
- Maintain relationships and communication with staff, customer agencies, and inmates/detainees/residents.
- Application of restraints and use of force follows TCA policies and customer contract requirements.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Must achieve and maintain Officer in Charge (OIC) certification to be eligible for AOIC assignment.
