Position SummaryThe successful candidate will be a problem‑solver, possess critical thinking skills, and be detail‑oriented. The SOC Operator will monitor cameras, alarms, and access control technology while communicating incident information to leadership and coordinating response efforts for life‑safety incidents.
Responsibilities- Answer routine and emergency calls, monitor alarms and video equipment, and provide general assistance to employees, vendors, and guests.
- Use various tools to identify threats and risks to the organization.
- Coordinate response to life‑safety incidents (medical, safety, natural disasters) and dispatch security officers, CRT, facilities, police, fire, and EMS personnel via telephone, radio, and software systems.
- Maintain records of communications and events.
- Handle sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality and information security practices.
- Conduct investigative video reviews, report findings, and update requestors promptly.
- Properly document all reported incidents and notify appropriate parties for escalation.
- Ensure all SOC systems function properly and report deficiencies.
- Coordinate on‑site security personnel using surveillance tools with intrusion detection.
- Proactively monitor extreme or adverse atmospheric conditions (e.g., hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, blizzards).
- Collaborate with relevant offices during police or fire emergencies near assets.
- Maintain situational awareness during planned or unplanned civil demonstrations near assets.
- Manage and prioritize employee security concerns through email, phone, and internal messaging platforms.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred but not required. Training available for those without industry experience.
- Certifications:
- Security Officer License (where applicable).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong observational and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using security systems, cameras, and basic office technology (email, Microsoft Office).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.
- Driving Eligibility: Must be over 25 years of age with a screened motor vehicle record if operating a company vehicle.
