Overview
The job of Transportation Mechanic was established for the purpose/s of providing mechanic services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; performing repairs and preventive maintenance; ensuring completion of projects in accordance with trade standards; providing information on the proper uses of equipment; assisting other mechanics; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at the job site. The role encompasses driving a bus when necessary, performing road checks on occasion to ensure it is safe to operate buses, preparing written logs and documents, when necessary, to document activities and comply with regulations, responding to road calls about equipment, and other duties customary to school mechanics.
Must possess a CDL license or be able to obtain one with a P&S endorsement.
Responsibilities- Identify repair and/or replacement needs.
