HVAC Service Apprentice

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is looking for an HVAC Service Apprentice to join the team. Military veterans encouraged to apply.

• Assist with performing assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings on various types of split systems, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed.
• Assist with diagnosing causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs.
• Use HVAC skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large‑sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
• Utilize electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools to maintain systems.
• Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks within the allotted time frame.
• Operate company vehicle to complete service calls within a specified territory.
• Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
• Maintain a drug‑free workplace.
• Be punctual and reliable.
• Work in extremes of heat, cold, and adverse weather, indoors and outdoors.
• Stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 60 lbs throughout the workday.
• Work efficiently in confined spaces, reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, and bending.

• Prior completion of an HVAC trade school program.
• Maintenance or electrical knowledge preferred.
