Low Voltage Electrician
Sher Contracting is hiring low voltage electricians to install, terminate, and test structured cabling and low-voltage systems in commercial and industrial environments. You'll work on voice/data, CCTV, access control, paging/AV, and fire alarm low-voltage wiring—delivering safe, clean, and code-compliant installs.

What You'll Do- Pull, route, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, coax, control cable, and fiber in conduit, baskets, J-hooks, and walls/ceilings
- Set and terminate patch panels, keystones, jacks, and racks; perform RJ-45 (110/66 punch), coax terminations; assist with fiber prep/termination
- Install devices: cameras, card readers, door strikes, panels, speakers, APs, and related hardware
- Read prints, risers, and one-lines; follow scope, JSA, LOTO, and site safety procedures
- Test and certify cabling (Fluke/continuity), document results, and complete redlines/as-builts
- Collaborate with foreman/GCs; maintain a neat work area and professional customer communication
- Required: 1+ year in low-voltage (or strong electrical/cabling experience); proficiency with cable pulling, dressing, labeling, and copper terminations
- Ability to use hand/power tools, ladders, lifts, and test equipment safely
- Read/interpret construction drawings and scope sheets
- Work at heights and in active construction areas; lift 50+ lbs; stand/walk most of shift
- Valid driver's license; reliable transportation; punctual and dependable
- Fiber prep/connectorization, fusion splicing, and OTDR testing
- CCTV, access control, intercom, AV/paging, or fire alarm low-voltage device install experience
- Certifications:
OSHA-10/30, Hilti/Anchoring, Aerial/Scissor-Lift, BICSI, manufacturer credentials - Fluke DSX test/certify experience; basic IP/networking familiarity
$25 - $31 per hour
