Location: Jonesborough

Position Overview

As a Facilities/Maintenance Technician at NOGJ in Jonesborough, you will perform a variety of duties within the Maintenance department and will provide support throughout the facility and within all areas of production. This position reports directly to the Facilities/Maintenance Supervisor. It requires the ability to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and 10‑12 hour shifts, under general supervision following established policies.

Your Day to Day as Facilities/Maintenance Technician
  • Troubleshoot, perform maintenance, install and repair fluid systems and chemical processing equipment including valves, pumps, process control systems, heaters, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
  • Apply system lock-out devices and conduct maintenance on hazardous chemical systems.
  • General building and grounds maintenance; installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Report issues and out-of-control conditions to supervision/management.
  • Evaluate, prioritize and complete requests for repair.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex data collection.
  • Report and provide feedback to supervision.
  • Conduct inspections and make recommendations to supervision.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on process systems equipment and components.
  • Perform modifications to equipment.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain records as required.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Assist in other areas of the facility as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent technical school completion; must have at least six years of facilities/maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting and repair/maintenance of machinery such as valves, pumps, process control systems, hydraulic and mechanical components, heaters, PLCs, and power distribution systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of maintenance trades/tools including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and machinery repairs (a plus).
  • Analytical ability to perform moderately complex equipment evaluations.
  • Intermediate math knowledge (algebra and geometry).
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow.
  • Effective computer skills and literacy.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel and external contacts.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Teamwork orientation.
  • Availability to work 10+ hour shifts, any shift, overtime and weekends as required.
  • US citizenship with no dual citizenship.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense and/or Department of Energy security clearance.
  • Compliance with respirator usage and shaven protocol if required.

Pay

Hourly rate: $26.92 – $42.31 per hour for Tennessee (US-TN). Total compensation may include additional benefits and may be adjusted based on performance and market factors.
