The Automotive Service Mechanic I Position is responsible for servicing and repairing automobiles, buses, trucks and other motorized equipment to include preventive maintenance and component repair or overhaul.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary Of Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Provide preventive maintenance such as checking the fuel injection pumps, electrical systems, brakes and changing the oil to avoid breakdown
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles with oversight from Automotive Service Technician II or III
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
  • Lubricate equipment in accordance with established procedures and charts; checks and changes oil, oil filters and air filters, fuels and services buses and other vehicles; replaces hoses, belts, water pumps, batteries and similar equipment and parts
  • Check wiper blades and other safety equipment; check radiators and batteries, check water and antifreeze levels; check air in tires and adjusts pressure; repair flat tires and change tires as necessary
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas
  • Perform diversified electrical work on all automotive and related equipment, such as servicing, installing batteries and terminals, repairing and adjusting lights, and repairing generators and starters
  • Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service
  • Assist the Automotive Service Technician(s) II or III in performing moderate to complex overhaul and repair work on engines, transmissions, drive unit, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, alternators, electrical systems, instrumentations and other necessary power equipment
  • Troubleshoot by referring to technical manuals and technical library while utilizing a systematic approach
  • Maintain records of work performed and the need for future servicing. Inputs in log books; completion of inspections, corrective action, and/or repairs made and lists applicable parts used
  • Use a variety of testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters and gauges to determine malfunctions and the need for repairTi
  • Test drive or evaluate the performance of the vehicle or equipment after it has been serviced to determine that it functions at its optimum level
  • Learn and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Dollywood policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
  • Keep all records up to date and current in an accessible, organized fashion (i.e. Logbooks, Inspection Forms, etc.)
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of spare parts, hardware, and tools
