Maintenance Technician (Level
2)

This role focuses on industrial maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment, performing both mechanical and advanced electrical troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. You will support production by maintaining, repairing, and improving equipment such as stamping presses, conveyors, pumps, motors, and related control systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on industrial hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including presses, pumps, valves, motors, conveyors, and related systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment, including reading ladder logic and identifying faults within PLC control systems, with emphasis on Siemens or Allen-Bradley platforms.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair three-phase motor controls and AC/DC servo drives to ensure reliable operation of production equipment.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on electrical and hydraulic equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Perform industrial machine repair and maintenance, including mechanical troubleshooting, adjustments, and component replacement as needed.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting on control circuits, sensors, and power systems to restore equipment to proper operating condition.
  • Install, adjust, and maintain electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and systems in accordance with technical drawings and schematics.
  • Work with sensors, servo drives, motors, pumps, conveyors, and associated controls to maintain consistent production performance.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support ongoing maintenance planning and reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work, support projects, and meet production requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in a heavy industrial, metal stamping environment.
  • Participate in shift-based maintenance coverage, including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production demands.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical and hydraulic equipment maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician performing both mechanical and strong electrical troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic, with preference for experience on Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and electrical controls in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of three-phase motor controls and their application in industrial equipment.
  • Experience working with AC and DC servo drives, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with PLC control systems, sensors, and industrial electrical circuits.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance skills for industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance (preventative/corrective maintenance) on industrial equipment.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, including machine repair, maintenance repair, and electrical maintenance.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot pneumatics and related components.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably supporting metal stamping or automotive manufacturing operations.
  • Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled facility with continuous production activity.
  • Familiarity with sensors, conveyors, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and every other weekend, based on production needs.
  • Willingness to train on the assigned shift or on day shift initially before transitioning to a later shift.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with production and maintenance colleagues.
  • No specific certifications required beyond the high school diploma or GED.
