As the Lead Engineer of the Portal Reports and Insights application team, your primary responsibilities include designing and implementing distributed, fault‑tolerant systems and creating high‑performance reporting and insights applications that can run nearly 10,000 reports every week. These reports and insights measure performance and export raw data about user‑generated content, while dashboards help clients understand trends and patterns. Staff Engineers lead initiatives from conception to delivery, drive best practices, and mentor talent.

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent (education or work based)
• 7+ years of experience building and supporting scalable, distributed systems using open‑source tools
• Proven hands‑on experience with OOP languages and at least one scripting language (e.g., Java/C++/etc. and Python/Ruby/etc.)
• Prior technical leadership and/or mentorship experience
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience writing complex SQL queries (any dialect; Postgre
  
  SQL is a plus)
• Experience with an API framework (e.g., Spring Boot)
• Experience with a public cloud provider (AWS preferred, Google Cloud, Azure or similar)
• Experience with modern build tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Git Hub, etc.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (cloud formation, EMR, S3, EC2, Cloud Trail, etc.)
• Experience with data visualization and analytics tools/frameworks (e.g., D3.js, Tableau, Looker, or similar) is a plus
• Strong analytical, technical, and communication (oral and written) skills
