The role is part of the In‑Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on‑orbit.

- Travel may require up to 10% based on program needs.
- Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded flight software for the Blue Ring spacecraft, including hardware interface layers
- Implement software requirements derived from system‑level specifications, ensuring traceability throughout the software development lifecycle
- Develop and execute software unit tests, integration tests, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) test procedures to verify software functionality and performance
- Collaborate closely with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to define software interfaces and resolve cross‑discipline technical issues
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical peer reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards
- Debug and troubleshoot complex software and hardware/software integration issues in a lab and test environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
- Proficiency in C++ programming in resource‑constrained embedded environments
- Experience with Python development for tooling, test automation, or scripting in an engineering environment
- Experience developing flight software for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other safety‑critical aerospace systems
- Familiarity with software verification for mission and safety critical standards (DO178, NPR 7150.2, SMC‑S‑012)
- Experience with Dev Ops practices including CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing frameworks, and configuration management tools such as Git, Jenkins, or equivalent

Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training. - Required for certain Job Profiles:
