The Threat Systems Development Branch of Leidos Defense Sensors is seeking a talented Software Architecture Section Manager to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex problems. The branch specializes in foreign threat radar systems, RF software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators, and open-air radar development. The selected candidate will support projects for the Defense Intelligence Community, Air Force, and large prime contractors.
ResponsibilitiesServe as a section manager responsible for personnel management including tasking, timesheet approval, and annual performance appraisals. Regularly communicate with direct reports to ensure adequate tasking.
Project assignments could be focused in one or multiple of the following areas:
- Development of C++ simulations of radar and missile systems in software-based and hardware-in-the-loop configurations on Windows, Linux, and hard real‑time OS.
- Development of C# or LAN web-based custom graphical user-interface tools to support simulation control and real-time visualization.
- Integration of simulations into customer software environments through interface and plugin development.
- Creation of deployable professional software deliveries with supporting documentation.
- Development of continuous build and test toolsets for automated release candidate generation and verification.
- Collaboration with external customers to elicit requirements and define project goals.
- Advocacy of best practices and new concepts within the team.
- 12+ years of relevant experience with a related BS degree, or a MS in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing software processes and working in a lab environment.
- Experience with customer/stakeholder interaction and technical meetings.
- Expert level proficiency with C++ coding.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems programming.
- Software Architecture Design experience required.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and detailed code review.
- US Citizen with Secret clearance.
- Knowledge of radar fundamentals.
- Experience with C# and WPF.
- Experience with Visual Studio.
- Experience with Power Shell.
- Experience with Matlab.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, JIRA).
- Experience with CMake.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the area.
