Computer Engineer

Overview

Sim Ventions is seeking a Computer Engineer to evaluate, analyze, and develop systems—including hardware, software, and interconnecting infrastructure—to support operational tasks. The role involves in‑house full lifecycle design, development, and testing of microelectronics and custom embedded systems with an emphasis on bare‑metal C/C++ coding for microcontrollers.

• Active Secret Clearance required; eligibility for Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
• U.S. citizenship required
• Experience with embedded hardware product lifecycle (design, test, integration)
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium)
• Experience writing embedded firmware for microprocessors
• Proficiency in containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) – desired

• Translate high‑level requirements into integrated engineering designs
• Conduct trade‑off analyses (risk/cost/benefit) for technical decisions
• Design and integrate custom electrical circuits and robust mechanical packaging
• Develop C/C++ bare‑metal firmware using test‑driven development
• Manage code using Git Lab for configuration management
• Develop full‑stack applications (SQL, C++ services, React/Next.js) – desired
• Conduct developmental testing and evaluation of solutions
• Adhere to program configuration management and documentation standards

Primarily office/lab setting with minimal travel.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $79,000.00–$ (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is one component of the total compensation package offered by Sim Ventions.
