Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software applications for space systems and technologies.
- Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
- Architect and implement complex software systems to meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to understand project needs and contribute to effective software solutions.
- Utilize version control systems such as Git to manage code changes and collaborate.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to development standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software‑related issues in a timely manner.
- Document software configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) or master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
- Typically 5+ years of related experience.
- Expertise in one or multiple programming languages.
- Advanced understanding of software development principles.
- Ability to design and architect complex software systems.
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum/Kanban.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Proficiency in Python and React.
- Experience with Python FastAPI.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD for application deployments.
- Experience with code coverage testing and writing unit tests.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum/Kanban methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Power Shell) and automation tools (Ansible).
- Strong analytical skills, performance profiling, and debugging complex systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and proficiency with collaborative tools (Git Hub, Git Lab, Bitbucket) and development ceremonies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and cloud‑native development.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Understanding of network protocols, security principles, and secure coding practices.
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing Software Design Patterns.
- Knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Pay Range: $ – $ (base compensation varies based on experience, education, and market competitiveness).
