CDL Class A Driver

Job Description

Base pay starts at $26.50 - $27.50 per hour. Shift: Full Time Day Shift.

• Transport, deliver, and/or unload metal roofing, components, and building systems to customers in a safe and timely manner to dealers, distribution centers, and/or construction job sites using a tractor‑trailer.
• Safely assist in the unloading of product to customer’s location and/or return products.
• Deliver material in a route truck/multi‑drop fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering the vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas.
• Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other required by law.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
• Answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content; direct customers to appropriate contacts if unable to answer.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment.
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed.
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Perform general warehouse duties during non‑delivery times, including loading customers, warehouse maintenance, and various production tasks.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record.
• Two (2) years of previous tractor‑trailer flatbed driving experience, including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience acceptable).
• Valid Medical Card.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with people in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to perform in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work.
• Physical capability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time, and lift 40–50 lbs.
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
• Vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
